🎉 Big News! A Name Has Been Chosen!

Since the start of development, my game has carried the placeholder title Crystal Chronicles: Elements—part of a larger vision for a series set in the world of Crystal Chronicles.

But today, I’m thrilled to share that the game finally has its official name: Elements: Spellbound

It feels amazing to finally give it an identity that captures the heart of what this game is about—elemental magic, discovery, and spellcasting strategy.

To celebrate, I’m excited to announce that a playable prototype and teaser demo is on the way very soon (shooting for the end of April)! And with that, the game now has its very own page on itch.io! Go check it out, wishlist, and follow for updates!

As we head toward the teaser demo release, I wanted to share what’s included and what’s still in progress.

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been working hard to bring the core of the game to life—from spellcasting systems to wave-based survival gameplay. Here’s a breakdown of what’s ready for the v0.1.0 playable demo

🧩 What’s in the Demo:

  • Core Gameplay Loop
    • Survive waves of enemies using elemental spells
    • Collect Essence from fallen foes to unlock random upgrades
    • Choose between learning a new element or getting an upgrade
  • Elemental Spellcasting
    • All 6 core elements (Arcane, Wind, Water, Fire, Earth, Nature) are active
    • Over 10 unique 2-element spells to discover and unleash
  • Roguelike Progression
    • Random upgrade system with new bonuses each run
    • Limited runs with increasing difficulty and rewards
  • Wave-Based Combat
    • Choose your battles! Tackle waves on Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty—greater risks bring greater rewards!
    • Face a boss battle at Wave 10
  • User Interface & Experience
    • Functional spell hotbar
    • Random upgrade selection screen
    • Revamped wave start mechanics
  • Visuals & Feedback
    • Improved menus and transitions
    • Enhanced spell and attack visuals

🚧What’s Still in Progress (TBD)

  • Enemy damage indicators and animation feedback
  • Sound effects and background music
