What Happened to the Last 3 Years?

Hey look, it’s my 7th post! From 2022 to 2025—what happened?

Back in 2022, I had free time to finally “try” developing a game I had in mind. But then, life happened. The company I worked for filed for bankruptcy (thanks, post-pandemic chaos), and I had to scramble for a new job.

I found one, but—surprise!—it turned out to be way more volatile and chaotic than I expected. Weekends? Gone. Free time? What’s that? My plan to keep developing completely stalled.

The Forgotten Repo & The Jump in Versions

Even though I was swamped with work, I refused to let go of the project entirely. In 2023, I barely touched the repo. In 2024, I tried to push a few updates when I could. And now, in 2025, I’m finally back at it.

If you look at my commit history, you’ll see the weird time gaps and sudden version jumps—yeah, let’s just say I wasn’t exactly following a structured update schedule. 😅

(Side note: I read up on semantic versioning and decided to clean up my version tags. Mistakes happen, I’m learning!)

Where I Am Now & What’s Next

Now that my new job has stabilized, I finally have the bandwidth to properly work on this game. I’ve been back at it for the past few months, and I’ve actually made progress!

I’ll be posting another update soon to go over the actual features I’ve worked on. But for now, here’s a look at my commit history—documenting the long, messy journey of this game in the making.
